Fighting Against Corona. The New Indian Way. Truth and Madness

19th March, our Hon. Prime Minister, declared a Janata Curfew. He has requested/appealed the citizens to observe curfew for 14 hours, and also appealed to clap (in a certain way) at 5 PM for the soldiers, doctors, police force and for all those who are working, serving hardly to help every citizen in this Corona outbreak.
Here, I think the situation in India started to become more and more serious. As he appealed, the Police on the streets forced the common people to go home, using bad words and mussel power. Though it was a Janata curfew(?), but enforced as a judicial curfew. Then at 5 PM, lot of extra motivated citizens, gathered together and celebrated their PM’s order to clap for a certain purpose, in a certain way. Celebrated as they have won the war against enemy.
Adding to this some of Chief Ministers, extended this Janata Curfew by order (an order to observe Janata Curfew is a good joke) for more extra hours. And to show more smartness, started to lock down the states, sealing the state borders, just like borders between two enemy country. Then Rail Minister called for shutting down all trains, and so on for the district magistrates, Collectors, CP’s, SP’s.
These extra enthusiastic decisions, decisions taken harshly, without considering the ground reality, started creating a mess, in the country.
Why I say this?
The war against Corona can be done , in more smart and positive way, since beginning. Right from the decision of Janata Curfew. While appealing for Janata curfew, it should be addressed that just 14 hours are not sufficient to overcome Covid 19, for celebration. That time it should be mentioned that we need to observe more cautious time at home for a fortnight. But enthusiastically, we asked for clapping… before winning the war. As usual people lost the importance of fight.
In the race of showing existence, Union Misters, State CM’s, DM, Collector, SP, CP, etc started acting, unaware/ overlooking the fact of common people, citizens situation. There are very few exceptions to this list, like Delhi and Maharashtra CM. Still Delhi CM also twitted on 22 March, about domestic flights not to fly, later clarified by Union Aviation Ministry that domestic flights are on.
UP CM Mr. Bisht, locked down the state and sealed the borders of state and then other CM started following him, without thinking of people. Citizens have not given time and guidance for preparation to face the situation. For gathering and storing food, money and shelter.
People who are out for going back to their home due to the upcoming curfews and uncertainty, got stacked on highways, some with blocked traffic, some due to no vehicles, walking along the highways, having no food. No one is ready to offer stay. Hotels are instructed to vacate the rooms, not allowing guest to stay. Staff of restaurants, dhaba’s are sent to home.
In cities and Villages, essential things are sold off. Scarcity of grocery, vegetable, milk, medicine started. Some of sellers taking due advantage of the situation.
Yet there are n number of people who are working only for daily food, hand to mouth people, having no money to buy for tomorrow, should those considered while taking decisions?
Do you think, all these things, decisions can be planned and panic situations can be possibly avoided by taking decisions in smart way, considering the ground reality and giving instructions in ample advance time for facing this situation, instead of Raw Vision decisions and the race of show business?
I think, Hon. PM has lot of strength, if he speaks, communicate with concern each central and state level authorities and take a common decisions and convey to citizens with one face, with creating no confusions, no misunderstanding. Letting people know Government is helping each citizen for supply of food, shelter, not here just to say, block down, close, stay home, Curfew, Borders closed and so on.
